DESCHAMPS "CHAMP"  HOOD

Aug. 16th, 1952 - Nov. 3rd, 2001

Our friend, Champ Hood has passed on from complications due to cancer. Many years ago, Champ wrote," I live upon a high hill, work my hands in wire and wood and I sing like a whippoorwill, and every night there's one thing on my mind: only that you love me until the day I die. If you love me then, you know I would not mind.
Champ, consider it done.

Thanks to everyone for your support.

 Coming Home

for Champ...by

Terry
Clarke

grace notes

a familiar violin
revered and cherished
sings its bygone love song
to a wounded, fearful world
as our maestro coaxes his strings
into sweet and pungent alchemy
to soothe our troubled souls

hope rises in the mist
above the garden
as grace notes
fall on me
like early
morning dew
